What We Do
Cotes is a Danish, family-owned company, established in 1986 that specializes in developing and producing a range of market-leading dehumidifiers (dry-air solutions) for various industrial applications (including wind turbines).
In the wind industry, high levels of humidity and salinity can cause a range of problems inside wind turbines, like the formation of mould, corrosion, and electrical faults. These humidity issues all have a negative impact on the lifetime of specific electrical components and the turbine itself.
That is why it is important to keep the environment inside the wind turbine dry and salt-free. To this end, Cotes has developed patented dry-air solutions specifically designed for the needs of the wind industry. These dry-air solutions are used during the transportation, installation, and operation of the nacelle, tower, TP, and other critical structures - onshore, offshore, and nearshore. Today, working closely with all major OEMs, Cotes dehumidifiers are installed in more than 80% of all offshore wind turbines.
But issues with humidity are not just an offshore matter. We see a large number of issues in nearshore and onshore wind turbines that do not have the right dry-air strategy, which is why we have developed retrofit dry-air solutions for transportation, temporary usage, and storage of wind turbines in onshore and nearshore applications.
